002. sometimes life is merely a matter of whisky and whatever intimacy a whisky tumbler provides.

The remains of my brother and his wife and children were interred this morning. It was a small service, immediate members of the family only; very lovely. There will be a larger memorial this coming Sunday for more distant relatives and family friends. It appears that Camilla, Edgar's wife, left several substantial sums of money for charity; those will be announced then.

-- and I wanted to extend my gratitude to everyone who has had a hand in assisting in the investigation. It is a great comfort, knowing that the government's best men and women are working to solve the case.

Now that that's been said, let's get back to work. I have noticed a distinct lack of substantial cases ending up in my pigeonhole of late. If I see another appeals case, or have to convince the Wizengamot to fine one more unlicensed owner of a XXXX-classified creature, I might begin to suspect my colleagues are trying to get me to, quote unquote, take it easy.

Get me a gnarly case lest I find one myself. I am not above theft or bribery (incentive in question: a crate of 25 year old scotch).

001. I find it dull when my heart meets my mind.

[DMLE]

The case has been open for over twenty-four hours now. Tell me we have leads, suspects. Demonstrate that your paycheques are warranted.

I want their remains as soon as possible.

Thank you for your messages of condolence. Whether or not you agreed with his politics, my brother and his family did not deserve what happened to them. They will be interred as soon as the DMLE releases their remains.
